I've used all three in the fields. Cash is a greater negotiator, but I've found loads of dealers who will take a check, I've used my credit card in the fields as well from dealers with a square, service is spotty, so it's hard, and I even had a dealer send me a paypal invoice and I paid it right there in the field. Gotta love technology!! Can't wait to get to Brimfield and away from our Texas heat!!

Remember the old "fanny packs"? they have been rebranded as "waist wallets" and are sleeker, so you won't look like a dork!

No counseling here on the Bulletin Boards, but you can buy a money bag that one would use while traveling abroad.

Thanks, all!

Not worried about someone lifting my cash. Rather, I'm still traumatized from my 13-year-old self who either lost or left a large sum of it while out and about. Will I ever recover? ;)

Will find a way to strap the cash to my body to protect myself from myself.

Brimfield or Bust!

agree with MikeM, it doesn't draw that sketchy crowd. There is also a police presence )uniformed and not that keeps a close eye on things.
Cash is best, some dealers will take checks. Some of the more $$$ dealers will take cards but I've never used them there. There are several ATMS as well scattered throughout the fields.

Cash is King at Brimfield, I don't think you will get robbed at Brimfield, it doesn't draw that kind of crowd!

Never ever trust your Credit Card with a stranger, or checks.

In general, what is the most widely accepted form of currency? My instincts say cash, but who wants to carry around pockets-full while at such a bustling venue? Do most of the vendors also accept plastic?

Thanks so much in advance from a total newbie who can hardly wait to get her feet wet.

Brimfield, here I come!
