Uship is web site that shippers bid on loads. The guy I have been using and is planning on being up for the Spring show is Tom of 44 Transport. His e-mail is tommyg1767@yahoo.com. He is great and goes above and beyond. Highly recommended!!!!

55 days to go :-)

There is usually a UPS stand set up at the New England Motel right behind the food vendors and before the actual Motel.

Where can I find the UShip you are talking about? We are always looking for an alternative shipper. We've also made a connection with some dealers from our home state that said they might be able to help with shipping as well. It helps them with gas and makes it easy for us. We can't wait to get to Brimfield!!!!

A lot depends on what you are buying. I have shipped for my customers in the past for "shippable" items. I have also brought stuff back home to be picked up at a later time (big items). Also there is some dealers that are also independent shippers (read Uship) that may be able to help. There is also a full time independent shipper that I use that is planning on going up to get some loads.

Have fun and enjoy yourself, The countdown is well under way :-)

Christine,
I forgot to mention that Southwest Airlines flies into Bradley and they do not have a baggage charge for the first 2 bags. Also, if you like Italian food, go to the Red Rose Italian Restaurant in downtown Springfield for a great meal. Also, if you buy large items, they have porters to transport your purchases to your car or the UPS vendor. Hope you have a great time and dress for all types of weather. Could be sunny, cold, hot, rainy....you name it, Brimfield has its own weather.

We are traveling from Texas and flying into Bradley as well. We have shipped treasures back via Greyhound. It's in Springfield, a 30 mile drive, but it was an economical alternative. We also pack light, one suitcase inside of a larger empty one to bring home our finds. You're going to have a great time.

Christine,
If time is limited, fly into Bradley Airport in Hartford, Ct. and rent a car there. Check with the airlines but there should be enough time. You can get a hotel in Chicopee, Mass or Enfield, Ct. which is about 20 minutes from Brimfield. Look on a travel website for info and availability. Plan this ASAP. There is a UPS vendor at the field in front of J&J's parking lot. They have packing supplies. There is also a Post Office right in town just to the east on Route 20.

Soliciting general advice/info on the following:

Looking to visit the show from Cleveland in May 2013. It's mid-March now. Am I too late to find flights and/or hotels? How early should one plan their visit?

Is it practical to drive to/fro or fly to/drive back? Travel time will be approx. 10 hrs each way and time will be limited.

Are most vendors experienced enough to help ship items after purchase or does the buyer need to arrange this?

Any other info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
